Nothing you type leaves your browser. ## What to charge for house cleaning Hourly rates reported across the US run roughly $25 to $70 an hour for residential cleaning, and vary more by city than by anything else. Whole-home jobs are more often priced per job than per hour, commonly $120 to $250 depending on size. Those are published ranges, not advice. What you charge depends on your area, whether you bring your own supplies, how many people are on the job, and whether it is a deep clean or a maintenance clean. If you already have regular clients, your own price is a better guide than any average. ## What belongs on a cleaning invoice Your name and how to reach you. The client name. The date of the work. Hours and rate, or the flat price. The total. And how they should pay you. Put the hours on it even when you charge a flat rate. An invoice that shows four hours at a rate is much harder to argue with than one that just says a number, and it is the difference between being paid and having a conversation about it. ## Per visit, or once a month For a one-off deep clean, invoice on the day. For a regular client, most cleaners invoice once a fortnight or once a month with each visit as its own line, so the client sees exactly which dates they are paying for. If you clean for several households, keep a separate running total per house.
